PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS ONLY, NO COUNSELING

“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”

I have always had an innate desire to understand why we do the things we do. This desire has stayed with me during my career as a psychologist. Throughout my years of experience in the field of psychology, I have focused predominantly on psychological evaluations of children and adolescents, trying to figure out the cause of behaviors and/or emotions with each client. I have a specialized interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly with differential diagnoses of ASD with other disorders. I also have experience conducting evaluations in other areas, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and behavioral disorders/ADHD. Another strong interest of mine is to offer purposeful recommendations based on evaluation results in order to help clients show improvement in their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning. Other professional interests include providing trainings to school campuses on various needs of children/adolescents and presenting ongoing research at national conferences since 2003.

Training Background: I am a licensed psychologist and a licensed school psychologist in Texas. I completed my undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University in 2003 with a major in psychology and then obtained my doctorate degree from Ball State University, Indiana, in 2008, specializing in school psychology. I moved to Texas to complete an APA-accredited doctoral internship at the Lewisville Independent School District. Additionally, I have been a certified instructor for the Crisis Prevention Institute since 2009 and provide annual trainings to school
staff on de-escalation and safety techniques. I have also taught psychology courses as an
adjunct professor at both Purdue North Central University and Argosy University-Dallas.
