Amanda Carnes, LPC, LMFT
Licensed Professional Counselor
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hello, my name is Amanda, and I look forward to seeing if we’re a good fit in working together on the struggles and experiences life has brought your way through the human experience. I enjoy working with couples, individuals, families, and older adolescents.
Because of the way I conceptualize trauma, my process is unique in a way that does not overwhelm one's ability to cope and helps put more ease into continuing or transitioning into your healing journey. What is traumatic to one individual may not be as traumatic to another; this is why I think it is so important for us to go into each day with a curious and open mindset rather than a judgmental one, as no one escapes the human experience without scars and wounds along the way that need to be healed and processed.
I am a dually licensed Marriage & Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am EMDR trained and specialize in complex trauma, working with veterans, first responders, substance abuse, and other complexities of life. I am a mother, a wife, and a proud veteran. These are roles that greatly help me with being able to truly relate to my clients and the endless human challenges that many may be facing.
My goal with clients is to create a safe, secure, non-judgmental environment where we can work on the areas of life that are causing them the most distress and focus on their healing. Whether it's in my personal life or professionally in the counseling process I am kind, direct, authentic, and most importantly I am patient. I hold a lot of experience and draw from a creative variety of evidence-based techniques to ensure that we make the most positive impact with our time together and to achieve the goals that brought you here.
